So I know what you’re thinking. How dare she even show her fingers on WordPress after, how many Months? But if you have been following me for a while (yes, I see you) then you will know that I was climbing some mountains and conquering some valleys ya’ll!
But guess what? I’m alive, I’m well, I’m Blessed. I’m back.
So, where do I begin? I guess I should rewind to about 3 Months ago.
Dubai was not getting any better for me. My bills in Europe were piling up and the little savings that I had left were quickly running out. Getting taxi’s to job interviews (with public transport still being a work in progress in that area), still paying for a hotel room and being forced to get on an instant noodle diet. I was getting ready to give up.
That’s when God turned it around.
As you know from my last post, the hiring process down here is crazy slow. So after waiting for 3,5 weeks for a yes or no from this major Human Resource company, I finally got an e-mail. Not only did I get the job as an New Business development exec., they had attached the offer and contract and asked me to start the next day! I was beyond myself.
I started at their amazing offices in this very modern and vibrant part of Dubai called Media City and I immediately felt at home. The only catch was, I had to pass some assessments and training courses within the first 2 weeks to officially start my new position. During those 2 weeks, I gave them my best. Unfortunately, only two of us made it through to the end.
To top it all off I had the MD personally congratulate me on getting the highest scores in all categories, ever. What a Mighty God we serve!
Just when I thought things could not get any better, I got hold of an uniquely affordable apartment just 1 day before they were going to almost double the rent price. I signed off the same day now having a job and low and behold, the next day, the rent went up to $4,000. Boy was I blessed.
And so, for the past month I have not been able to get that smile off my face. That grateful smile you have when someone gave you so much more than what you wanted.
Thursday, I got called in to my managers office. It sounded serious and So I wasn’t sure what to expect. God wasn’t done with me yet cause guess what?
After less than a month of joining I got my first promotion. I was now a Corporate Account Manager for the firm. The first to have ever been promoted this soon, and the youngest to join the team that makes up 80% of the company’s revenue. So my question to you today is:
Won’t He do It?!
